British Embassy reception to celebrate King Charles III's birthday
It is a traditional annual event organised by British embassies around the world as a tribute to the King and an opportunity to strengthen ties of friendship with the local community. This year's celebration in Ljubljana took place at the British Ambassador's residence in a convivial atmosphere.
In her speech, the British Ambassador to Slovenia, Victoria Harrison, highlighted her enthusiasm for Slovenia, especially the friendliness and openness of the Slovenes. She particularly emphasised her work and cooperation with young people, including the visually impaired, and showed her clear support for Ukraine. The Ambassador also stressed that the values His Majesty upholds, such as protecting the environment, promoting youth, interfaith dialogue, openness and inclusion, are shared by both the United Kingdom and Slovenia.

The evening was accompanied by a varied programme with a military brass band, a jazz quartet and a photo corner with British landmarks. Guests could also enjoy the excellent culinary offer, which included classic British snacks, cheese, fish dishes and, of course, a birthday cake prepared for the occasion by the Grand Hotel Union.
