Art Basel 2025: From Cézanne to Butzer

The international art fair took place in the Swiss city of Basel from Thursday to Sunday, June 19-22, 2025. This year's edition was absolutely amazing: the world's top galleries presented themselves with the top names in contemporary and modern art.

Art Basel is one of the most highly regarded annual events that has become a cornerstone of the contemporary art world over the years. Founded in 1970 in the Swiss city of Basel, the international fair brings together the most prominent artists, galleries, collectors and curators from around the world. It has become the premier destination for artists, dealers and collectors to view the most groundbreaking works on the contemporary market. Due to its success, it is held annually in several locations around the world: Basel, Paris, Hong Kong and Miami Beach, and in 2026 it will also move to the capital of Qatar, Doha.

This year's fair is, according to the Stoja Art Collection Gallery team, one of the best curations of this event in recent times. The galleries exhibiting at this edition of the Basel fair brought with them top names, and among the multitude of artists we found everything from top blue-chip artists, such as Ross Bleckner, to works from the 20th century. Among the latter, Paul Cezanne and Alighiero Boetti's Mappa stood out in particular. Among the established artists, visitors also got to know new names coming to the art market.

A new book by German painter André Butzer was also presented at the fair for the first time. Among the artists also hanging in our gallery, in addition to the already listed Bleckner, Butzer and Boetti, a beautiful piece by David Reed was also exposed at the fair.
