Whether art is your new or long-standing interest, visiting art institutions, fairs and other events is a great way to get to know old and new trends. With the art world today scattered all over the world and thousands of names constantly being added, it is impossible to visit every gallery and fair where works are carefully selected and examined. To make your exploration of the art market in the second half of this year as productive as possible, we have prepared a list of fairs, major exhibitions and other longer events taking place across Europe over the next six months.

ART FAIRS

1. Art Basel, Switzerland (June 19th - 22nd, 2025)

One of the most prestigious art fairs in the world, bringing over 250 of the world's best galleries to the Swiss city of Basel, which historically has brought their best "blue-chip" works. This year, more than 290 galleries with over 4,000 artists will be exhibiting at the fair.

2. Frieze London and Frieze Masters, London, United Kingdom (October 15th-19th, 2025)

Frieze London, the British capital's signature contemporary art fair, takes place every October in Regent's Park. Just across the park is the sister fair Frieze Masters, dedicated to works created before 2000. We attended the fair last year at the Stoja Art Collection gallery. If you haven’t yet, you can see our highlights here.

3. Art Basel, Paris, France (October 24th - 26th, 2025)

Last year, Art Basel Paris moved to its permanent home, the iconic Grand Palais, where it will be held again this year. The third edition of the fair seems to have solidified the dominance of the Paris fair Art Basel, especially for American collectors who may prefer the French capital to Miami Beach, where Art Basel hosts its American fair. The exhibition connects French cultural industries and creates a flagship event that spreads throughout the city and is embedded in its exceptional cultural ecosystem. The Stoja Art Collection Gallery team also attended this event last year. You can read more about it here.

4. Artissima Turin, Italy (October 31st - November 2nd, 2025)

Founded in 1994, Artissima is one of the most important art fairs in Italy. The fair is divided into several sections, including the main section, "Monologue/Dialogue" and "and New Entries", as well as curated sections selected by a jury of curators and in recent years called "Present Future" and "Back to the Future".

5. Art Cologne, Cologne, Germany (November 6th - 9th, 2025)

The oldest art fair in the world will celebrate its 58th anniversary this year. Every year, renowned galleries, artists, collectors and art lovers come together to discover high-quality paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and digital artworks. As an international art fair, it sets standards in the art market and offers a unique platform for dialogue between artists and investors.

EXHIBITIONS

1. “Five Friends: John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly”, Museum Brandhorst, Munich (April 10th - August 17th, 2025)

This year marks a hundred years since the birth of American artist Robert Rauschenberg. To mark this milestone, the artist’s foundation has coordinated a diverse program of exhibitions and events across Europe and the United States. The highlight is this groundbreaking group exhibition that places Rauschenberg’s work in dialogue with that of his closest collaborators – John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns and Cy Twombly – all of whom had a profound influence on the fields of music, dance, painting, sculpture and drawing in the post-war period.

2. Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting, National Portrait Gallery, London (20th June - 7th September 2025)

The first major museum exhibition of Jenny Saville in the UK will bring together 50 works from across the British artist’s career, including charcoal drawings and large-scale oil paintings of the human figure. The exhibition will be largely chronological, tracing Saville’s development from her acclaimed graduation exhibition at the Glasgow School of Art to her monumental nudes of the early 1990s, and then to her more recent, highly saturated images that question the increasingly blurred boundary between the physical and virtual worlds.

3. Emily Kam Kngwarray, Tate Modern, London (10th July 2025 - 11th January 2026)

Emily Kam Kngwarray, an elder woman from the Anmatyerr tribe in Australia’s Utopia region, created vibrant batik fabrics that captured her ritual, spiritual and ceremonial connection to her homeland. Kngwarray, a custodian of women’s dream sites in Alhalkere and a founding member of the Utopia Women’s Batik Group – a collective of 21 Aboriginal artists – took up painting in the late 1970s. In the eight years before her death, she created an astonishing 3,000 canvases – approximately one a day – that are now renowned for their detail and precision. Although she is considered one of the greats of Australian art, until this year Kngwarray had never been given a major exhibition in Europe.

4. “Turner and Constable”, Tate Britain, London (27th November 2025 – 12th April 2026)

The rivalry between J. M. W. Turner and John Constable is one of the greatest in art history. The artists, born in London in 1775 and Suffolk in 1776, are considered the two greatest British landscape painters. Although both had a strong connection to nature, they depicted it in very different ways. Two hundred and fifty years after their birth, these two great enemies will be brought together in a groundbreaking exhibition, combining paintings, sketchbook pages and personal objects, to develop a holistic view of each artist and offer visitors the opportunity to compare and contrast their different approaches.
